Lady Bills roll past Schuylerville, 17-5

JOHNSTOWN — Maddie Etherton and Taryn Ringer each had four goals and an assist to lead Johnstown to a 17-5 victory over Schuylerville in a Foothills Council girls lacrosse game Monday at Knox Field.

The Lady Bills led 11-3 at the half on their way to the rain-soaked win.

Ally Queeney had four goals and two assists for Johnstown, while Emily Fleming recorded two goals and an assist.

Rachel Lee had two goals for the Lady Bills, and Amber Tesi finished with a goal and two assists. Abbey Hollister added two assists for Johnstown, which is 11th in the latest Class D state rankings.

Eliza Barton had two goals and an assist for Schuylerville, while Brooke Thomas, Claire Barton and Sadie Tavares also scored.

Mari-Ahna Manchester finished with 13 saves for the Lady Bills, who outscored Schuylerville, 6-2, in the second half.

Katie Claps made nine saves for the Black Horses.

Johnstown (13-1 overall, 10-1 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Greenwich today for its regular-season finale.

The Lady Bills will then await the pairings for the Section II Class D Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

South Glens Falls 19, Amsterdam 8

AMSTERDAM — Emma Bovair netted six goals to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam in a Foothills Council game at Lynch Literacy Academy.

The Bulldogs led 6-5 at the half before outscoring the Lady Rams 13-3 in the second half to claim the win.

Lauren Willis had three goals for South Glens Falls, while Maddy Walter, Savannah Kreppein and Jillian Willis all scored two goals.

Kayli Hoefs had six goals and an assist to lead Amsterdam.

Amsterdam (3-11 overall, 2-9 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Schuylerville today for its regular-season finale at 4:30 p.m.
