H.S. Softball Roundup: Canajoharie tops Fonda-Fultonville, 11-5

CANAJOHARIE — Canajoharie scored all 11 of its runs over the first three innings on its way to an 11-5 victory over Fonda-Fultonville in a Western Athletic Conference softball contest Thursday.

Monica Hartlieb had a triple, single and three RBIs for the Lady Cougars, while Caitlyn Baker, had a double, single and scored two runs. Kylee Rickard had two singles, an RBI and scored three runs for Canajoharie, and Mollie Krug was 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

Emma Crahan had a home run, RBI and scored three runs for Fonda-Fultonville, while Adrianna Butler and Brianne Egelston each had two singles.

Fonda-Fultonville is scheduled to host Berne-Knox-Westerlo today at 4:30 p.m., while Canajoharie is slated to travel to Northville on Monday for a 4:30 p.m. contest.

AMSTERDAM — Shelby LaMont had two doubles, two singles and scored four runs to help Amsterdam to a Foothills Council victory over Gloversville at Shuttleworth Park.

Jordyn Wozniak had a home run, two RBIs and scored three runs for Amsterdam (8-5 overall, 5-3 Foothills), while Madison Carmona had a single, double and three runs scored.

Jordan DeMagistris had two singles for Gloversville (1-15 overall, 0-10 Foothills), while Maddie Avery and Michaela Ponticello each had singles.

AMSTERDAM — In its second game of the day, Amsterdam scored seven runs in the sixth innings on its way to a Foothills Council victory over Johnstown at Shuttleworth Park.

Hailee Alicea had a three-run double in the sixth for the Lady Rams.

Shelby LaMont went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBIs for Amsterdam, while Megan LaMont tripled and scored two runs. Sydney Szczepanik had two singles, an RBI and three runs scored for the Lady Rams, and Wozniak and had an RBI single and Nicole DeRose each had RBI singles.

Grace Giarrizzo went 3-for-4 with a double, a triple and two RBIs for Johnstown, while Joelle Bump was 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored.

DOLGEVILLE — Dolgeville scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to rally for a victory over Poland.

Bella Nichols had a triple and a single for the Blue Devils, Isabella Williams had three singles and Madison Gorinshek had two singles. Sandy Gonyea had a triple for Dolgeville and Hannah Stack added a double.

Thalia Pantoja had a triple and a double for Poland, while Mackensie McDonald and Taylor Goodney each had two singles. Amanda Sweet added a double for the Tornadoes.
