H.S. Baseball Roundup: Amsterdam cruises past Johnstown, 11-0

JOHNSTOWN — Matt Murphy went 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs to power Amsterdam to an 11-0 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council baseball game at Johnstown High School on Monday.

Peyton Ausfeld was 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Rams, who won their 17th straight game.

Tyler Krackow drove in two runs for Amsterdam, Francisco Rodriguez-Santana had an RBI single and scored three times, and Jake Greco and Andrew Giaimo each had an RBI single.

Michael Rocas and Andrew Bracchi combined on a one-hitter for Amsterdam (17-1 overall, 13-0 Foothills). Rocas struck out eight, allowed one hit and walked one, while Bracchi struck out five and allowed no hits over the final three innings.

Charlie Brown doubled for the lone hit for Johnstown (1-14 overall, 1-12 Foothills).

SCHENECTADY — Dylan Hamlen went 3-for-4 to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a WAC victory over Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

Brady Myles, Riley Cole and Massimo DiCaprio all had two hits for the Braves, who improved to 12-6 overall and 11-4 in WAC play.

FFCS now awaits the pairings for the Section II Class B Tournament, which will be announced Wednesday.

Ryan Coons had a single, two RBIs and scored a run for the Eagles, Andrew Drescher had a double and scored three runs, and Matt Coons added a single and scored two runs.

Mason Snell had two singles and scored a run for OESJ (11-5 overall, 8-5 WAC), while Von Baker had a single, two RBIs and scored a run. Ben Littrell had a single, RBI and scored a run, Travis Lafountain had a single and scored a run, and Tyler Leon added a single.

SCHOHARIE — Nate Buley had two singles and three RBIs to help Fort Plain post a WAC victory over Schoharie.

Josh Nellis had a double and two RBIs for the Hilltoppers, who scored six times in the top of fourth and five times in the top of fifth to break the game open.

Bryce Thibodeau had a single and three RBIs for Fort Plain, Jaxson Yacowenia had a single, three runs scored and two stolen bases, and John Cortese added two RBIs.

Fort Plain (14-0 overall, 13-0 WAC) is scheduled to host Schoharie today at 4:30 p.m.

COXSACKIE — Jake Terwilliger hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a non-league victory over Coxsackie-Athens at McQuade Park.

Jake Galarneau had two hits for B-P (13-5 overall), while Dante Calderone had a single and an RBI. Justin Hertik had a single and scored a run for the Patriots, and Ryan Visco added a single.

Mike Petramale had a home run and two RBIs for Coxsackie-Athens, while Gil Bell had a single and a double.

Killian Schrader had two singles and an RBI for the Indians, while Ethan Foster had a single, RBI and scored a run. Joe Notabartolo and Aiden Boehm each had singles for Coxsackie-Athens.
