GHS boys tennis defeats Troy, 6-1

GLOVERSVILLE — The Gloversville boys tennis team posted a 6-1 victory over Troy in the opening round of the Section II Class A Tournament on Thursday.

Damian Bruce, Ryan Issa, Simon Bruce and Emran Abbas all won singles matches for eighth-seeded Gloversville (7-7 overall).

Nick Vincent and Kazuma Lomanto won at first doubles for the Huskies, while Kameren Port and Jenna Carbone won at second doubles.

Xavier Sclemmer won at fourth singles for ninth-seeded Troy (0-12 overall).

Gloversville is scheduled to face top-seeded Scotia-Glenville in the quarterfinals today at 4:15 p.m.

Scotia-Glenville won both regular-season meetings with Gloversville by scores of 6-1.
