Broadalbin-Perth boys win Kyle Hysack Invitational

CHERRY VALLEY — The Broadalbin-Perth boys took home the team title and the Lady Patriots were second in the teams standings at Friday’s Kyle Hysack Invitational at Cherry Valley-Springfield High School.

The Dolgeville boys squad placed third at the meet, while Fort Plain-Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville was fourth.

The Dolgeville girls placed sevent at the meet and Fort Plain-Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville was eighth.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Ava Tyler and Hailey Parotti were named co-female athletes of the meet, while BP’s Nico Mancini was named the male athlete of the meet.

The Patriots Sean Meher and John Coddington were selected as the top male field performers at the meet, while Wyatt Couperus was selected as the top male track performer.

Tyler won the pole vault with a height of 10-0, the 100-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles.

Parrotti took home victories in the 100 and 200-meter dashes as well as the long and triple jumps.

Also posting a victory for the Broadalbin-Perth girls was Caitlin Palmateer in the shot put.

Mancini won the 110-meter high hurdles and the high jump, while Meher captured top honors in the long and triple jumps.

Coddington won the shot put and Danny Dylong won the pole vault for Brodalbin-Perth, while Jon Simmons won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles and Couperus won the 800-meter run. and Devin Becker won the 3,200-meter run.

Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville’s Hunter Logan won the discus, while Dolgeville’s Jacob Null sprinted to victory in the 100-meter dash.

Invitational

FONDA — Scotia-Glenville swept the team titles at the Fonda-Fultonville Invitational Friday at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

The Mayfield-Northville girls placed second in the team standings, while Johnstown was third, Fonda-Fultonville fourth, Gloversville sixth, and Canajoharie seventh

On the boys side, Johnstown was runner-up to the Tartans, while Fonda-Fultonville was third, Canajoharie fourth, Mayfield-Northville fifth, and Gloversville ninth.

Jenna Thompson and Abigail Gottung were double winners for Johnstown, while Macey Salvione took home a pair if individual victories for Gloversville.

Madison Relyea, Taryn LaFountaine, Sam Kent and Briana Bace scored victories for Mayfield/Northville.

For the boys, Canajoharie’s Marcus Johnson set a new school record in his 400-meter intermediate hurdle victory. He also took home the win in the triple jump and the Cougars’ Luke Sunderland won the pentathlon.

Sebastian Mills won the 3,000-meter steeplechase for Johnstown, while Brady BanAernam won the shot put.

Fonda-Fultonville’s Alex Saltsman won the discus event, while Mayfield-Northville’s Evan Lehr won the high jump and Dylan bumpus won the pole vault.

Invitational

QUEENSBURY — Amsterdam’s Lauren Santiago set a meet record in the 200-meter dash with her winning time of 25.46 at the Queensbury Invitational Saturday at Queensbury High School.

Santiago also won the 400 meters, while Gabby Stanavich won the 400-meter intermediate hurdles for the Lady Rams and Jackie Stanavich won the pentathlon.

Mayfield-Northville’s Madison Relyea made the trip to the invitational and won the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:54.43 and was second in the 800 meters, setting a new school record with her time of 2:24.15.
