Boys Lacrosse Roundup: Johnstown suffers first loss
SCHUYLERVILLE — Josh Hoyt finished with three goals for Johnstown in a 13-6 loss at Schuylerville in a non-league boys lacrosse contest Saturday.
Zach Serpa had two goals for the Sir Bills, while Caden Mereness scored once.
Trevor Murphy had three assists for Johnstown (11-1 overall).
Kyle Salamack had 14 saves for the Sir Bills, who are scheduled to host Voorheesville on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Knox Field.
Voorheesville 10, Amsterdam 5
AMSTERDAM — Ian Owens scored five goals to lead Voorheesville to a non-league victory over Amsterdam on Saturday at Lynch Literacy Academy.
Jake Palmer and Dan Kekis each scored twice for the Blackbirds, while Trevor Relyea had a goal and an assist.
Kolby Fifield, Aaron Rackowski, Anthony Barone-Lopez, Kye Desbiens and Joe Cerda all scored for Amsterdam, while Matt Crounse, Serge Desbiens and Cam Chrzanowski all had an assist.
Matt Johnson made 15 saves for the Rams.
Amsterdam (0-11 overall) is scheduled to travel to South Glens Falls on Tuesday for a 5 p.m. game.
