Sir Bills rout Lansingburgh, remain unbeaten

JOHNSTOWN — Playing on its home turf for the first time since April 2, the Johnstown boys lacrosse team turned in a dominating effort in a 19-0 victory over Lansingburgh in a Wasaren League contest at Knox Field.

The Sir Bills led 9-0 after one quarter and 14-0 at the half on their way to the victory.

Zach Serpa finished with three goals and two assists for Johnstown, while Noah Champlin also had three goals.

Josh Hoyt, Skyler Bronson and Brandon Handy all scored twice for the Sir Bills, who posted an 18-0 victory at Lansingburgh on March 27.

Trevor Murphy had a goal and five assists for Johnstown and Chase Benton had a goal and two assists. Alec Yerdon, Damien Waight, Colby Pedrick, Nate Schrom and Charlie Gagliardo also scored for the Sir Bills, who had 12 different players score goals in the victory.

Spencer Kotwasinski had two assists for Johntown and M.J. Heroth added one assist.

Heroth and Benton combined to win 19 of 23 face-offs for Johnstown

Kyle Salamack made eight saves to post the shutout in goal for the Sir Bills. It was the third shutout of the season for Salamack.

Johnstown (7-0 overall, 6-0 Wasaren) is scheduled to host Maple Hill-Ichabod Crane today at Knox Field at 5 p.m.
