Hartlieb’s grand slam powers Canajoharie to victory

MIDDLEBURGH — Monica Hartlieb connected for her second grand slam in two days to lead Canajoharie to a 13-1 victory over Middleburgh Thursday at Middleburgh High School.

Hartlieb finished with four RBIs on a single and the grand slam, while Kylee Richard had two hits and three runs scored and Hilary Jonker had two singles top go with two hits and two RBIs from Sam Kearney.

Mackenzie Bowerman got the win in the circle with a 2-hitter, striking out seven, while collecting two RBIs, two runs scored and a single at the plate.

Ashley Ciafardo had a single and an RBI for Middleburgh, while Theresa Risch added a single.

GALWAY — Eliza Eagan connected for three singles, four RBIs and two runs scored to lead Galway to the Western Athletic Conference victory Thursday at Galway High School.

Emma Smith, Jordan Zuk and Trishelle Oliver had two hits apiece for the Golden Eagles.

Emily Shepard led Northville with a home run and a single, while Britney Moore added two doubles.

SCOTIA — Megan Charnews connected for a pair of doubles and drove in two runs to lead Scotia-Glenville to the Foothills Council victory Thursday at Scotia-Glenville High School.

Cerenity Sedgewick and Jorden Iannotti both singled and drove in two runs for the Lady Tartans.

AMSTERDAM — Kristen Langdon tossed a one-hitter, striking out nine, to lead Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake to a non-league victory Thursday at Shuttleworth Park.

Madison Maggs had a double and an RBI for the Spartans, while Chloe Lewandowski added two singles.

Sydney Szczepanik broke up Langdon’s no-hit bid with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh.

MINERVA — Sierra Mauro struck out 11, allowed six hits and walked seven in a complete-game victory to lead Wells to a Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference victory over Minerva-Newcomb on Wednesday.

Isabella Simola had a double for Wells (1-0 overall, 1-0 MVAC), while Alexis Brooks had two hits.
