FMCC softball swept by Jefferson

WATERTOWN — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College softball team lost both games of its doubleheader at Jefferson Community College on Saturday. The Lady Raiders lost the first game, 12-1, and the second game, 4-2.

In the first game, Jefferson scored all 12 of its runs in the first inning on its way to the victory.

Kacie Updike had three triples and scored two runs to lead Jefferson, while Samantha Dibble and Siera Robbins each had a single and a double. Dibble also had two RBIs. Logan Kirchoff was 2-for-4 with four RBIs for the Cannoneers.

Sierra Logan had a triple for FMCC, while Marque Pacillo had a single and scored the Lady Raiders’ lone run. Alex Benfatti and Anganese Gomez each had singles for FMCC.

In the second game, Jefferson scored three times in the first inning on its way to a 4-2 victory.

Dibble had two hits, scored two runs and had an RBI for the Cannoneers, while Kirchoff and Katelyn VanBrocklin each had a single and an RBI.

Juliana Buyce was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored for FMCC, while Pacillo was 2-for-3. Logan and Gomez each had singles for the Lady Raiders.

FMCC (0-4 overall) is scheduled to travel to Tompkins Cortland Community College on Tuesday for a doubleheader. The first game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
