AHS boys tennis team drops pair

QUEENSBURY — The Amsterdam boys tennis team dropped matches to Queensbury and Schuylerville in a Foothills Council doubleheader at Queensbury High School on Wednesday.

The Rams lost 7-0 to Queensbury and 6-1 to Schuylerville.

Queensbury’s Brady Stark, Aidan Rowley, Conor Whalen, Kevin Milza and Will Lamy won singles matches.

Jon Osika and Christian Riccardelli won at first doubles for the Spartans, and Liam Jones and Will Povie won at second doubles.

Schuylerville won four of five singles matches and both doubles contests to post its win over Amsterdam.

Michael Gale, Aidan Edwards, Austin Gardner and Rachel McInerney won singles matches for the Black Horses.

Justin Ashauer and Hollie Deyoe won a first doubles for Schuylerville, while Amanda-Nicole Ross and Grace Early won at second doubles.

Nick Antonelli claimed the lone victory for the Rams, posting a 9-7 win over Owen Greene at first singles.
