League-leading Huskies sweep South High, 4-0

GLOVERSVILLE — League-leading Gloversville picked up a key victory Thursday as the Huskies defeated South Glens Falls 4-0 in Foothills council bowling action Thursday at Arterial Lanes.

Gloversville (49-11) out pinned South Glens Falls (44-16) 3,704-3,316. The Huskies opened with a 1,130-1,029 victory in the first game and followed with a1,379-1,250 victory in game two before closing out the match with a 1,195-1,037 victory.

Gloversville’s Adam Loveless rolled games of 266, 234, and 212 to lead all bowlers with his 712 triple, while Derek Taylor rolled 259-615 and Lane Daley finished with a 245-612. Adrian Dorman added a 202-601, while Aiden Carter rolled 226-591 and mark Sgambato chipped in with a 200-573.

Will Bickford led South Glens Falls with his 226-620 series, while Kara Rapp rolled a 268-604 and Dalton Jones added a 245-588. Mykhal Brunell rolled 197-511, Jacob Hall 216-499 and Devyn Davidson 175-494 to round out the Bulldogs scorers.

The Huskies have three regular season matches remaining on the schedule. They will take to the road to bowl Queensbury on Monday before hosting Johnstown on Wednesday and closing out the regular season at Hudson Falls on Jan. 28.

Gloversville will host the Foothills Council tournament on Feb. 1 at Arterial Lanes.

CANAJOHARIE — The Fort Plain bowling teams swept Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in Western Athletic Conference action Thursday at Iroquois Lanes.

The Fort Plain boys out-pinned OESJ 2,632-2,270, while the Fort Plain girls took total 2,004-1,227.

Landen ValAlstine led the Hilltoppers with his 224-554 triple, while Taylor Gifford finished with a 206-537 and Anthony Paradiso chipped in with a 212-501.

Braden Fredericks led OESJ with his 208-556 effort.

For the Lady Hilltoppers, Rachel Zuppardi led the way with her 166-481 triple, while Emma Oldick rolled 163-469.

Hanna Oderkirk led OESJ with her 135-336 effort.
