Johnstown boys, girls place sixth
QUEENSBURY — The Johnstown boys and girls alpine ski teams competed in the Glens Falls Invitational at West Mountain on Wednesday.
The race was a one-run giant slalom event.
Shenendehowa won the boys team title with a total of 19 points. Saratoga Springs was second with 21 points and Queensbury was third with 36 points. Johnstown was sixth with 68 points.
Queensbury’s Hunter Montgomery won the boys race with a time of 30.35 seconds. Shenendehowa’s Patrick Leonard (30.43 seconds) was second and Stillwater’s Tre Rossi (30.50) was third.
Colin Cotter was Johnstown’s top finisher, placing 13th with a time of 32.38 seconds.
Ben Krempa (33.58) was 25th for the Sir Bills, Tyler Kortz (34.92) was 30th, Carter Cheney (34.96) was 31st and Jacob Martelle (44.53) was 57th.
In the girls race, Shenendehowa claimed the team title with 21 points. Queensbury was second with 30 points and Saratoga Springs was third with 31 points. Johnstown finished sixth with 62.5 points.
Schuylerville’s Hannah Klingbiel won the girls race with a time of 31.29 seconds. Queensbury’s Maddie Montgomery (31.58 seconds) was second and Shenendehowa’s Melissa Taggert (31.58) was third.
Molly Lake was Johnstown top finisher, placing seventh with a time of 32.89 seconds. Robin Kruggel (34.13) was 16th for the Lady Bills, Taryn Ringer (37.41) was 39th and Emily Frank (37.51) was 41st. Petra Conyne (39.98) was 46th for Johnstown, Molly Memrick (41.15) was 51st and Emily Fleming did not finish her run.
