Dolgeville volleyball outlasts Remsen, 3-2

DOLGEVILLE — Jazzlyn Grassel finished with nine kills, two digs and one block to help Dolgeville to a 3-2 victory over Remsen in a Center State Conference volleyball match Friday.

The Blue Devils won by scores of 25-18, 19-25, 25-11, 16-25 and 25-16.

Emma Bilinski posted 15 digs, five kills and two aces for Dolgeville (10-2 overall), Sam Hoke recorded 11 digs, and Rylee Lamphere had 12 assists, 12 digs and five kills. Breanna Potts registered 17 digs, six kills, three aces and one block for the Blue Devils, Kinsey Randall had 14 assists, 14 digs, nine aces and five kills, Meredith Minor-Foster had 11 digs and two kills, and Olivia Davies finished with five digs and four aces. Paige Crumm added five digs for the Blue Devils.

Hailey Jewett had 15 assists, seven digs and two kills for Remsen (4-8 overall), while Christa Fransman posted eight assists and four digs. Madelyn McCormack recorded 15 kills, 15 digs and four aces for the Rams, Katelyn Griffith had 12 digs, Skylar Eaton had eight digs and Emma Skermont added five digs and three kills.

The match also was Dolgeville’s second annual Coaches vs. Cancer volleyball match.

The players took orders for daffodils, sold pin-up cards, hosted a bake sale, held a 50/50 raffle in support of the cause, as well as a basket and gift card raffle.
