JHS field hockey tops Scotia-Glenville

SCOTIA — Taryn Ringer netted a hat trick and an assist to propel Johnstown to a 6-2 victory over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council field hockey game Monday.

Emily Fleming had a goal and an assist for the Lady Bills, while Maddie Etherton and Anna Lee also scored. Emily Frank added an assist for Johnstown, which outshot Scotia-Glenville by a 31-7 margin.

Juliann Vadney and Jessie Paszkiewicz scored for Scotia-Glenville, while Zoe Connor had two assists.

Abby VanValkenburgh made five saves for Johnstown, which had a 17-6 advantage in penalty corners.

Sophy Lefere made 19 stops for Scotia-Glenville.

Johnstown (12-0 overall, 8-0 Foothills) is scheduled to travel to Gloversville today for a 7 p.m. contest.
