H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Johnstown tops Scotia-Glenville

JOHNSTOWN — Macenzie Ward finished with 23 assists, six digs, three points, two blocks and two aces to power Johnstown to a 3-0 victory over Scotia-Glenville in a Foothills Council volleyball match Wednesday at Johnstown High School.

The Lady Bills won by scores of 25-22, 25-11 and 25-18.

Janay Douglas posted 10 kills, four digs, two aces, two points and two blocks for Johnstown (8-3 overall, 7-3 WAC), while Amber Tesi had five points, five kills, three aces and two digs. Julie Wager added five kills, five points, three aces and two digs for the Lady Bills.

Maddie Wright had 12 assists, one kill and one ace for Scotia-Glenville, and Sierra Brodowski added five digs.

Gloversville 3, Amsterdam 1

AMSTERDAM — Aireana Muhlberger had 19 assists, 11 aces and five digs for Gloversville in a Foothills Council victory over Amsterdam at Amsterdam High School.

The Huskies won by scores of 26-24, 25-7, 14-25 and 25-21.

Macey Salvione posted 11 kills and seven digs for Gloversville (5-6 overall, 5-6 Foothills), while Maddy Avery finished with 10 kills and seven digs.

Amsterdam (4-10 overall, 2-9 Foothills)

Broadalbin-Perth 3, Hudson Falls 0

HUDSON FALLS — Cassy Bown finished with 10 kills and four digs to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a Foothills Council victory over Hudson Falls.

The Lady Patriots won by scores of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-23.

Eliana Fraser had six kills and five digs for B-P (9-1 overall, 9-1 Foothills), while Sydney Rogers posted 13 service points and five kills.

Raeann Bombard had 18 assists for Hudson Falls (5-6 overall, 4-5 Foothills), while Molli Burch recorded 13 points, eight kills and two aces. Carley Toole posted 22 digs, 12 points and three aces for the Tigers, and Meghan Marchese added five kills.
