South Glens Falls tops Patriots in Foothills golf

QUEENSBURY — Trevor Corlew and Shamus Mulderry carded rounds of 42 to lead South Glens Falls past Broadalbin-Perth 169-186 in Foothills Council golf action Thursday at the Highland Park Country Club.

Zack LaFave turned in a 43 for the Bulldogs, while Willis Bickford rounded out the scoring with his round of 46.

Matt Danise shot 42 to led Broadalbin-Perth (4-2 Foothills, 5-2 overall), while Stuart Bond shot 45, Connor Canale 47 and Mike Piska carded a 52.

Scotia-Glenville 162, Johnstown 170

SCHENECTADY — Johnstown’s Ethan Wager turned in the low score of the day, shooting a round of 33 but the Tartans got consistent scoring from Justin O’Neil, Tyler Fannie, Grace Kochan and Addison Achain to defeat the Sir Bills 162-170 in Foothills Council golf action Thursday at Stadium Golf Course.

O’Neil and Fannie both carded 40s for Scotia-Glenville (6-1), while Kochan and Achain both shot 41.

Tyler Kortz shot 44 for Johnstown (5-2), while Colin Kowalski turned in a 45 and Conner Diviyak shot 48.


Fort Plain 12 1/2, BKW 2 1/2.

CANAJOHARIE — Taylor Gifford turned in a sectional qualifying score of 34 to lead Fort Plain to victory over BKW in Western Athletic Conference golf action Thursday at the Canajoharie County Club.

Seth Rivkowich turned in a 42 for the Hilltoppers, while Luke Doxtater shot 52, Damien Young 53, Zackarie Young 55 and Evan Crouse carded a 61.

Will Boltri led the Bulldogs with his round of 52, while Sean Motschmann turned in a 55, Kyle Quad and Jason Basle both shot 56, Caleb Schrader shot 58 and Hunter Stephens finished with a 77.

Schoharie 9, OESJ 6

DOLGEVILLE — Shane Helmstadt turned in a round of 46 to lead Schoharie to victory over Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in Western Athletic Conference golf action Thursday at Hopson Hills Golf Club.

The teams picked up six points apiece in individual play but Schoharie claimed total 208-223 to secure the victory.

Ethan Vanderwerken turned in a 52 for Schoharie, while John Polley shot 53 and Louis Hardendorf added a 57 for the Indians. Seth Walker and Aiden Scofield finished with round of 64 and 79 respectively.

Austin Hayes led the Wolves with his round of 51,while Von Baker shot 55, Casey Watson had a 58 and Jeb Brundage finished with 59. Jesse Watson had a 62 and Brandon Hulten turned in a 68 for OESJ.
