Former Mohawks picked in MLB Draft

AMSTERDAM – Several former Amsterdam Mohawks were among the players selected in the Major League Baseball Draft.

Griffin Roberts, a member of the 2016 Mohawks team, was taken 43rd in the first round by the St. Louis Cardinals

Tyler Frank, a member of the 2016 Mohawks team, was selected 56th overall in the second round by the Tampa Bay Rays.

Lenny Torres, who was slated to be a member of the 2018 Mohawks team, was taken 41st in the first round by the Cleveland Indians.

On Tuesday, two additional former Mohawks were drafted.

Brett Kinneman, a member of the 2016 Mohawks team, was taken by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the seventh round with the 204th pick.

Tyler Smith, a member of the 2015 Amsterdam squad, was selected 241st in the eighth round by the Los Angeles Angels.

Tuesday rounds 3-10

The draft concludes today with rounds 11-40.
