Broadalbin-Perth boys, girls register Foothills Council wins over Johnstown

GLOVERSVILLE — The Amsterdam track and field teams dominated Tuesday’s Foothills Council meet against Gloversville at Park Terrace Elementary School.

Marco Rivera was a triple winner for the Amsterdam boys at they posted a 107-34 victory over the Huskies, while Gabby Stanavich, Olivia Lazarou were double individual event winners for the Lady Rams in their 94 1/2-35 1/2 win over Gloversville.

Stanavich swept the hurdle events, winning the 100-meter high hurdles in 15.3 and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 69.9.

Lazarou topped the field in the 800 meters with a time of 2:25.9 and the 1,500 with a 5:15.9 effort.

Macey Salvione and Ivy Dutcher posted victories for the Gloversville girls.

Salvione won the triple jump with a leap of 30-8, while Dutcher took first in the discus with a throw of 72-04.

Rivers took top honors in the triple jump with a leap of 37-00 1/4 and the long jump with a jump of 18-00 1/4. He also won the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.8.

Parker Simek posted the Gloversville boys lone win at the meet with throw of 83-03 to win the discus.

Broadalbin-Perth sweeps past Johnstown

JOHNSTOWN — Chris Wagner posted three wins for Broadalbin-Perth as the Patriots rolled to a 114-27 victory over Johnstown in a Foothills Council meet Tuesday at Knox Field.

Wagner won the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 16.0 before taking first in the long jump with a leap of 20-4 and the pole vault with a height of 13-6. Ivan Roberts won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 11.30 and 23.40 respectively.

Johnstown’s Sebastian Mills won the 1,600 with a time of 4:52.0 and Joseph Matthews picked up the win in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-8.

On the girls side, the Johnstown’s Abby Gottung won the 100-meter high hurdles and the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, while Jenna Thompson won the 200- and 200-meter dashes.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Gabrielle Larsen topped the field in the 800- and 1,500-meter runs, while Hailey Parrotti won the long and triple jumps and Caitlyn Palmateer topped the field in the shot put and discus.

Fonda-Fultonville, Mayfield-Northville post two wins each

FONDA — The Fonda-Fultonville and Mayfield-Northville track and field teams came away with two victories each at a Western Athletic Conference quadrangular meet Tuesday at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

Evan Lehr posted four wins on the day for Mayfield-Northville. Lehr won the long jump with a jump of 18-07, the triple jump with a leap of 29-02 1/2, the high jump with a height of 5-08 and the 400 meters with a time of 56.4.

Liam Viscosi, Chris Yarush and Shane Viscosi were double winners for Fonda-Fultonville, while Mekhi Lanier posted a pair of wins for Fort Plain/Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville and Dylan Bumpus was also a double winner for Mayfield-Northville.

On the girls side, Brittany Castelluccio was a triple winner for Fonda-Fultonville, taking top honors in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.03, the long jump with a jump of 18-1 and the triple jump with a leap of 35-8.

Madison Relyea was a double winner for Mayfield-Northville, while Emma Rhodes swept the hurdle events for Fonda-Fultonville and Rhyonn Ford took top honors in the throws for Fort Plain/Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville.

Vivian Hanley was the lone winner for Middleburgh at the meet with her victory in the high jump, clearing the bar a 4-9.

Canajoharie boys finish dual-meet season unbeaten

DUANESBURG — The Canajoharie boys track and field team wrapped up the Hudson Division dual meet championship with a 10-0 record Tuesday with wins over Berne-Knox-Westerlo and Duanesburg.

The Cougars rolled to a 126-13 win over Duanesburg, while defeating Berne-Knox-Westerlo 113-29.

The senior members of the squad, Andrew Yacobucci, Hunter Congdon, Louis Hand, A.J. Sullivan, Andrew Towse and Mack Frank, lost only one dual meet in their varsity careers, posting a 30-1 record over four years.

“I could not be more proud of this group of kids and what they have accomplished in their careers,” Canajoharie boys coach Kevin Stuttle said. “I am really looking forward to the next three weeks to see what they can do during championships and qualifiers.”

Galway sweeps past Schoharie

SCHOHARIE — Erik Mathews picked up victories in four events for the Galway boys in a Western Athletic Conference meet at Schoharie High School.

Mathews won the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 15.9, the 800-meter run in 2:09.7, the 1,600 in 5:12.8 and the pole vault with a height of 9-1.

Jaydon Santoro was a double winner for Schoharie with wins in the long jump (17-3) and the triple jump (35-3 1/2).

Rachel Wnuk was a double winner for the Galway girls with victories in the 100-meter high hurdles with a time of 17.4 and the triple jump with a leap of 30-1 1/4.

Carissa Palmatier posted two wins for Schoharie, winning the high jump with a height of 3-6 and the shot put with a throw of 26-10 1/2.
