JHS boys lacrosse loses in semifinals

GREENWICH — Chris Albrecht finished with three goals and two assists to lead top-seeded Greenwich to a 13-2 victory over fourth-seeded Johnstown in the semifinals of the Section II Class D boys lacrosse tournament Wednesday.

Ellis Pemrick registered three goals for the Witches, while Luke Pemrick had two goals and two assists. Josh James had two goals and an assist for Greenwich (13-1 overall), Henry Galanty scored twice and Sam Whiting also scored.

Garrett Way had a goal and an assist for Johnstown, while Kerry Blackwood also scored.

Gage Boddery and Matt Ginart combined to make 10 saves for Greenwich, while Zach Maxson made 14 saves for Johnstown.

Greenwich advances to the Class D championship game Saturday to face second-seeded Schuylerville. The Black Horses topped third-seeded Cambridge, 12-5, in their semifinal contest.

The Sir Bills finished the season with an 11-6 overall record.
