FMCC baseball loses in regionals
BUFFALO — The Fulton-Montgomery Community College baseball team came up short in the Region 3 sub-regional doubleheader Saturday.
The Raiders fell to Erie Community College in game one, 11-1 and fell in game two 5-4.
In game one, the Kats scored nine runs in the first two innings and FMCC couldn’t recover. Erie pounded out 11 hits in the contest.
Dan Parslow and Cory Moore each had singles for the Raiders in the loss.
In game two, FMCC bounced back and pitcher Richard Umholtz was strong on the mound. He pitched eight innings, allowed six hits and struck out 10.
FMCC led 4-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth, but Erie scored 3 runs in the bottom half of the inning to secure the victory.
The Raiders finished with five hits in the contest. Brogan Barker led at the plate going 2-4, including a double and RBI. Kyle Sherlock, Coby Caraballo, and Ben McHarg each had singles.
FMCC finished the season with a 15-13 overall record.
