Saturday the Raiders traveled to Fishkill to compete in the Westchester CC Shootout.
It was decided to take one mixed team, which meant two of the women competed against the men.
FMCC finsihed sixth out of 16 for the day.
“We were in fourth place most of the day but in the last full game before both Penn St. and Cornell went ahead of us,” FMCC coach Tom Rathbun said. ” Initially I was a little disappointed but our kids essentially bowled 14 games in a 24 hour period and that is a lot. I think we got a little tired at the end. It was a busy 24 hours but I think our kids benefited from the experience. Additionally, three teams from our Mountain Valley Conference finished in the top 6. No other conference had two teams in the top 10. That speaks to just how competitive our conference is.”
The Raiders will compete Saturday at Boulevard Lanes in Schenectady at the Royals Classic.
