Braves’ Turner named Colonial Council all-star

Fonda-Fultonville junior Will Turner was the Braves’ lone selection to the recently announced Colonial Council boys basketball all-star team.

Turner, who was named to the first team, averaged 20.1 points per game for FFCS, which finished the season with a 7-12 overall record.

Watervliet’s Jordan Gleason was named the Colonial Council’s Most Valuable Player.

Joining Turner on the first team were Cohoes’ Elijah Newsome, Watervliet’s Tyler McLeod, Lansingburgh’s Malik Miller, Cohoes’ Brandon LaForest and Schalmont’s Dom Caputo.

Voorheesville had Logan Hotaling and Dylan Hensel named second-team all-stars.

Also named to the second team were Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk’s Desmond Williams, Mechanicville’s Nathan Hatalsky and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk’s David Warnken.

The third team included Voorheesville’s Noah Crawford, Cohoes’ Shelton Alston, Ichabod Crane’s Steve Rybka, Mechanicville’s Mike Canizzo and Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk’s Christian Hodson.
