William Squillace, 59, of Fonda passed away peacefully Tuesday evening at St. Mary's Healthcare with loved ones at his side.
Born in Amsterdam on Sept. 6, 1954, he was the son of Joanne and the late Salvatore Squillace and a 1971 graduate of Fonda-Fultonville Central School. He was raised in Glen and assisted in the operation of the family farm and later at the family business, The Dairy Bar. He also managed the Fairway Service Station and retired from the Walmart Distribution Center as a manager due to ill health. Bill loved motorcycle and GP racing as well as being an ardent Raider's football fan. He loved life and was generous and giving to all who knew him.
Survivors include his mother, Joanne Squillace, and a brother, James Squillace of Johnstown; dear friends, Mark and Christine Foss, Edward and Kathy Walters, Nancy and Frank Greco, Ron Smith, Steve Leone, Raymond Tylutki, Steve Peterson; and his beloved feline companions.
A celebration of his life will take place on Monday at 5 p.m. at the Glen Reformed Church. Elder Tom Flanders will preside. Relatives and friends are invited. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, 12166.
