LITTLE FALLS - The Amsterdam Mohawks improved to 5-6 overall after winning both games in Monday's Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League doubleheader at Mohawk Valley.
The Mohawks won the first game, 2-1 in eight innings, before completing the sweep at Veterans Memorial Park with a 6-2 win in the second contest.
In both games, Amsterdam scored all of their runs in their final two at-bats.
In the first game, Marcus Carson singled and scored on an error to score the game-winning run for the Mohawks.
Carson was 2-for-4 for Amsterdam, while Jonathan Pryor had the onle other hit.
Colin Hawk had two hits for Mohawk Valley (5-4 overall).
In the second game, the Mohawks trailed 2-0 heading into the top of the sixth before scoring twice to tie the game.
Amsterdam added four runs in the top of the seventh to earn the victory.
Josh Gardiner had two hits and scored two runs for the Mohawks, while JaVon Shelby had a double and two RBIs. Brendan Tracy and Cseszewski each had triples for Amsterdam, while Pryor added a double.
Jake Glauser and Eric Strano each had two hits for Mohawk Valley.
Amsterdam is scheduled to host Watertown today at 6:35 p.m. at Shuttleworth Park.
It will be the second Military Tuesday game for the Mohawks.
All military personnel, past and present, will receive free admission with proper identification. In addition, all military personnel will receive free food and non-alcoholic drinks on the new Stars and Stripes Veteran's Deck in right field.
The Mohawks will honor a select few veterans each week as well on the field for their service, and will wear camo jerseys each Tuesday to honor the military.
