Several Amsterdam athletes were among those selected for the recently announced Big 10 track and field all-star team.
On the boys side, Izaiah Brown (400 meters), David Graveley (400 hurdles), Omahri Sturdivant (triple jump), Julian Gallup (long jump), Shane Derose (400 relay) and Jared Gallup (1,600 relay) were named first team all-stars for Amsterdam. Brown was third at the New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. over the weekend with a time of 46.61 seconds. Brown also defended his state title in the 400 meters the week before. Brown also helped Amsterdam's 1,600-meter relay team to a fifth-place finish at the New Balance Nationals and a Federation title.
Lucas Dorr (100), Jose Perez (high jump) and Giacamo Lanzi (shot put) were named second-team all-stars for the Rams, while Austin Brock (pole vault) and Jose Perez (discus) were named honorable mention.

For the girls, Olivia Lazarou (1,500), Delilah Quinones (3,000), Cassandra Robataille (pole vault) and Maddie Janetsky (triple jump) were named first-team all-stars for Amsterdam, while Brenda Santana (100), McKenna Palczak (100 hurdles), Carissa Bottisti (pole vault) and Hannah Wollman (long jump) were named to the second team.
Caitlyn Adamchick and Abby Wollman were named honorable mention for Amsterdam.
Christian Brothers Academy had Elliott Croskey (100), Kevin LaFleche (800), Justin Van Epps (1,600), Greg Stire (high jump) and Nick Makarowsky (400 relay) named first-team all-stars.
Also named to the first team were La Salle's Dylan Thomas (200), Niall Coughlin (3,200), Matt Pietro (discus), Jeremiah Parsons (400 relay), Tim Saxe (1,600 relay) and Joe Croson (3,200 relay); Troy's Randy Jefferson (100 hurdles), Noah Williams (shot put) and Kyle Stewart (3,200 relay); Bishop Gibbons' Will Johnson and Chris Homenick (1,600 relay); Albany's Christian Adams (pole vault) and Nesta Littlejohn (400 relay); Schenectady's John Fields (1,600 relay); Bishop Maginn's Doug Jira (3,200 relay); and Catholic Central's Ricky Drake (3,200 relay).
La Salle had Matt Arnold (pentathlon), Justin Burke (110 hurdles), Dan Goss (400 hurdles), Alex Apicella (long jump), Dimitri McCombs pole vault) and Xyier Woodard (discus) named second-team all-stars.
Also named to the second team were CBA's Austin Ellis (200), Albany's Ben Wells (400), CBA's Liam O'Brien, Albany's Liam Leary (1,600), Bishop Gibbons' Jonah Allard (3,200) and Albany's Chris Wolcott (triple jump).
Albany had Jahari Coleman (100), Jala Moore (200), Alexis Brown (400), Eileen Bequette (400 hurdles) and Tiaria Gaines (high jump) named first-team all-stars.
Also named to the first team were Schenectady's Megan DuFort (800), Catholic Central's Annette Volpe (100 hurdles), Bishop Gibbons' Emily Brown (long jump), Troy's Riley Martin (shot put) and Bishop Maginn's Shayla Lyons (discus).
In addition to its five first-team all-stars, Albany also had Cydney-Alexis DeLeRosa (200), Larisa Chestnut (400) and Mercedes Johnson (400 hurdles) named second-team all-stars.
Also named to the second team were Catholic Central's Julia Engster (3,000), Regan McFerran (high jump) and Kelly Thayer (shot put); Troy's Madelin Brown (discus) and Dayshia Randal (1,500); Bishop Gibbons' Talya Williams (800); and Schenectady's Nyaisha Clay (triple jump).
