Mrs. Eleanor B. Fallis, age 96, a lifelong Gloversville, N.Y., resident, passed away on Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at the Wells Nursing Home, Inc., Johnstown, NY.
She was born on September 28, 1917, in Gloversville, the daughter of Clarence M. and Ruth Dunson Brown. Eleanor was a 1935 graduate of Gloversville High School and a 1938 graduate of the Gloversville Business School. She was employed as an executive secretary for 25 years for Shine Enterprises of Gloversville. She was a secretary for 16 years for the Gloversville school system. Eleanor was employed for 9 years at the First United Methodist Church of Gloversville and was a lifelong member of the church.
On May 30, 1947 she was married to Theodore Fallis, and he died on August 17, 1968. She is also predeceased by two brothers, Hubert C. Brown and Burlin F. Brown. Survivors include one son, Drew T. Fallis (Debbie) of Gloversville; two grandchildren, Tyler D. Fallis of Gloversville and Kyle E. Fallis of Johnstown; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Darryn Fallis; nieces, nephews, cousins and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the John W. Finocan Funeral Home Inc., 13 Prospect Ave., Gloversville. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown, N.Y.
