AMSTERDAM - St. Mary's Center for Complementary Therapies will be offering eight consecutive sessions of "Yoga for Everyone" beginning March 3.

Classes will be taught by Abbey Ballard, certified KripaluYoga teacher.

"Yoga for Everyone" is a gentle approach to creating balance and harmony in the body, mind and spirit, a news release said. The fundamental principles of alignment, breath-work and relaxation will be learned, the release said. Students will be introduced to the postures in a progressive sequence with the emphasis on increasing flexibility, lengthening the spine, increasing body awareness and reducing tension in the body. Beginners and the more experienced are invited to attend.

"Yoga for Everyone" is offered in a series of eight consecutive classes held from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. at the Inman Center, 53 Guy Park Ave. Pre-registration is important, but those interested can attend even if they are unable to register in advance, the release said. Bring your own mat or blanket. The cost for the series is $115.

Other class dates in the series are March 10, 17, 24 and 31, and April 7, 14 and 21. To pre-register, call Rita Jean DuBrey, director of the Center for Complementary Therapies, at 841-7146.
