Ann M. Simpson, 51, of Noonan Road, Fort Johnson, died Saturday morning, February 8, 2014, at St. Mary's Healthcare in Amsterdam.
She was born in Plymouth, NH on May 14, 1962, a daughter of Richard and Judith Trembley Wilson and moved to Broadalbin as a child. Ann was a graduate of Broadalbin High School and later attended business school in Maryland. She lived in Fort Johnson for the past twelve years.
Ann was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Broadalbin. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, and gardening. Her family and friends were important to her and she loved spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Terry Wilson; and a foster brother, Vincent Ruggeri.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas G. Simpson, whom she married on March 25, 2011; two sons, Matthew Blanchard of Gloversville and Timothy Simpson of Fort Johnson; her foster parents, Joseph and Jane Ruggeri of Broadalbin; her stepfather, Barry Ostrander of Mayfield; a brother, Darby Ostrander of Johnstown; three sisters, Heidi Ostrander and Nancy (Joe) Sowle, all of Broadalbin, and Kelly Sheldon of Johnstown; an uncle, Joe "Chitwood" Trembley of West Palm Beach, FL; and nieces and nephews, including Ashley Ostrander and David Opalka.
Cremation was performed at Park View Crematorium, Schenectady. A time of remembrance will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2014, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Snowed Inn, Midline Road, Amsterdam. Arrangements are by the Robert M. Halgas Funeral Home Inc., 111 County Highway 106, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
