Mr. Brian David Quackenbush, 70, of Morristown, Tenn., passed away on January 13, 2014, at his residence. Brian was born on February 14, 1943, in the town of Johnstown. He was the son of the late Raymond and Cymbleen Quackenbush. He graduated from Broadalbin High School in 1961. Brian served his country in the Navy from 1961 to 1965. He was employed at Hussmann's, the Gloversville Post Office, Ruby & Quiri before becoming self-employed as a service repairman.
Brian retired to Morristown, Tenn. He was a life member of the VFW and former chaplain, life member life member of the Am Vets, DAV and American Legion. He was an avid NASCAR fan and he loved his "apple pie."
Brian was predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Gibson Quackenbush; his second wife, Virginia Krieble; and a brother, Stan Quackenbush.
He is survived by a son, Chris Quackenbush of Gloversville, N.Y.; a daughter, Lori Kroll of Illinois; a sister, Jan Wetterau; a daughter-in-law and caregiver, Terry Krieble; sisters-in-law, Sylvia Beck and Bonnie Quackenbush, all of Morristown, Tenn. Also, he is survived by grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A military memorial service was held Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Mayes Family Services conducted by VFW Post 5266.
