Josephine was a loving wife, exceptional mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a good friend to all those with whom she shared her life. Her priorities, her concerns, and her responsibilities revolved around her family. Gifted with a kind attitude, a loving manner, strong spirit, and an optimistic outlook on life, she always kept her heart and home open to those who sought comfort and warmth. Possessing a zest for life, an energetic approach to life's obligations and a steadfast work ethic, she put her best effort into daily living and was rewarded with the best that everyday had to offer. Jo enjoyed spending time with family and friends; an excellent cook who loved to host parties and holiday gatherings at the "homestead in Mayfield. She found solace in keeping house, gardening, and tending her many flowers.
In her later years, she enjoyed bowling, golfing, puzzles, crafting, and especially playing cards. Jo also enjoyed numerous senior citizens trips with her friends. Jo was an avid Yankees fan, which brought her much joy or frustration, depending on how they were doing that season.
Josephine was the epitome of growing old with grace and dignity, facing life's limits, challenges, and changes with acceptance and a sense of humor. A woman of strong faith, independence, and perpetual optimism, she was an inspiration to all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.
