Boys Soccer Roundup: Amsterdam defeats Hoosick Falls, 1-0

SCHODACK - Andrew DiSalvi scored the game's only goal in the second overtime, leading the Amsterdam boys soccer team to a 1-0 win over Hoosick Falls in the consolation game of the Maple Hill Tournament.

Dom Peluso assisted on the goal for the Rams.

Dillon Smith saved a penalty kick in the game for Amsterdam (6-5-2 overall).

In the championship game, Ichabod Crane posted a 5-0 win over host Maple Hill.

Seth Scarano had two goals and an assist for the Riders, while Heriberto Gomez,, Alex Niemann and Tyler Suchoski also scored.

Diego Lezama added an assist for Ichabod Crane (13-0 overall).

Pierce Reilly made three saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Riders.

Tom Miller made 18 saves for Maple Hill (7-3-3 overall).

Foothills Council

Gloversville 3, Glens Falls 1

GLENS FALLS - Thomas Kirk finished with a goal and two assists, leading Gloversville to a win over Glens Falls.

Jake Crocetta and Josh Young also scored for the Dragons, while Matt Smrtic added an assist.

Tanner Sax scored the lone goal for Glens Falls (2-12 overall, 2-10 Foothills).

Kyle Royal made eight saves to post the win in goal for Gloversville (4-10 overall, 4-8 Foothills).

Patrick Resse made four saves for the Indians.

WAC

Saratoga Catholic 4, Fort Plain 0

SARATOGA SPRINGS - Liam Rice finished with two goals and an assist, powering Saratoga Central Catholic to a shutout win over Fort Plain.

Brian Hall had a goal and an assist for the Saints, while Nick Cavotta also scored. J.R. Hmura and Luke Spicer each had an assist for Saratoga Catholic (9-3-1 overall).

Joe Schmidt made two saves to post the shutout win in goal for the Saints.

James May made four saves for Fort Plain (4-10 overall).

Duanesburg 2, Sharon Springs 1

SHARON SPRINGS - Benjamin Lawrence and Mikkel Roade scored, leading Duanesburg past Sharon Springs.

Mitchell Hubert and John Iveson each had an assist for the Eagles (4-7-2 WAC).
