Paul J. Brown, 73, of Gloversville passed away unexpectedly Sunday, July 28, 2013 in Michigan while on vacation with his family. Paul was born on October 5, 1939 to the late Willard and Verna Smith Brown of Gloversville. He was married on May 28, 1960 to Evelyn Wadsworth Brown.
Paul was a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, retiring after 21 years of service. He received many distinctions throughout his career to include the Bronze Star, 2 Commendation medals, 4 Good Conduct medals, National Defense medals, Vietnam war era medals, and the Conspicuous Service Cross.
He was a lifetime member of The Retired Enlisted Association, Disabled American Veterans, Gloversville VFW and the United States Air Force Sergeant Association.
Paul is survived by his wife Evelyn of Gloversville; his children David (Leslie) of Bladenboro, NC; Gary (Mary Ann) of Princetown, NY; Malinda Slack (John) of Colorado Springs, CO; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; his siblings Robert (Gloria) Brown of Caroga Lake and Patricia (Tom) Loucks of Broadalbin; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Donald Brown and Leona Klender.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2013 from 2:00-3:00 pm at the Amico Funeral Home, 150 South Main Street, Gloversville, followed by a 3:00 pm funeral service with Rev. R.W. Williams. Urn Internet will be held in Benson Cemetery, Benson, NY with Full Military Honors.
