Chad Matthew Scribner, 42, of Cohoes, N.Y., (formerly of Johnstown) passed away unexpectedly on July 4, 2013. He was born June 2, 1971, in Amsterdam, N.Y., the son of Belinda (Pohleven) Mussey of Johnstown and Robert R. Scribner of Missouri.
Mr. Scribner was educated in Johnstown schools and attended Fulton-Montgomery Community College. He was of the Catholic faith, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, third degree.
Chad was a horologist, a professional watch and clock repairer. He was a member of the American Watch and Clockmakers Institute, the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and Roofers Local 241.
Chad enjoyed living his life to the fullest, never missing an opportunity to engage in new activities. He enjoyed his travels in the U.S. and abroad.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Cristina (Nina) Scribner; sons Chadwick Jr., and twins Matthew and Christopher; his mother, father, several siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Chad's fun-loving personality will be missed by so many, especially his "Uncle Dewy," DuWayne Pohleven.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at the Kobuskie-Konik Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, NY 12078. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-6 p.m. prior to the service. Expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to his children's trust fund, which is being established at Bank of America in Latham. Checks may be sent in care of the funeral home.
