JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville laundry and textile service is suing an Ulster County nursing home in state Supreme Court for $406,000 for breach of contract.

Robison & Smith Inc., 335 N. Main St., filed a civil lawsuit June 12 in Supreme Court in Johnstown against Northeast Center for Special Care in Lake Katrine. The firm is being represented by attorney Gerard Heckler.

The lawsuit states Robison & Smith entered into a written agreement March 16, 2009, with the nursing home to provide laundry services and materials for a four-year term, expiring March 15, 2014. But the suit says that "without cause," the facility on Feb. 1 refused to continue the contract. The loss to the launderer is $406,000, the suit says.

According to its website, Northeast Center for Special Care is a facility with a rehabilitation and re-entry program specializing in traumatic brain injury.
