Beverly J. Gifford, 84, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home. She was born on December 30, 1928, in Ephratah, N.Y. to the late Roscoe and Frances Hutchinson Gifford. Beverly worked as a bank teller for Key Bank, Gloversville for many years.
Beverly served in the United States Army. She will be warmly remembered for being an avid animal lover, listening to country music, strong willed, fiercely independent, and taking pictures of the wildlife in her yard.
Beverly was lovingly cared for by her sisters, Arlene and Clara after moving in with Arlene and John.
Beverly is survived by her siblings, Arlene (John) Stuart of Gloversville, Evelyn (Harris) Steans of Johnstown, and Robert (Ethel) Gifford of Mayfield; also many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Clara May Weinhold, Douglas, Richard, Phillip and Roscoe Jr. Gifford.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Cranberry Creek Community Church, 112 Gilbert Road, Mayfield, N.Y. followed by a 4 p.m. church service with Pastor John Steenburg. Cremation will take place at Leatherstocking Crematory, Cherry Valley, N.Y. At the request of the family a urn burial will take place at a later date in Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cranberry Creek Community Church, 112 Gifford Road, Mayfield, NY 12117.
