Julia E. Ehle

Julia E. Ehle, 63, of Johnstown, N.Y., passed away on May 2, 2013, at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady, N.Y.

She was born August 4, 1949, in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Dr. Jackson W. and Helen Greene Riddle.

She was a graduate of Norwich High School, Norwich, N.Y., and The College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio.

On May 15, 1976, she was united in marriage with Daniel V. Ehle, who survives.

For 18 years, Mrs. Ehle was the administrative assistant at St. John's Episcopal Church in Johnstown, where she was a member and sang in the choir. She was a member of the Burroughs Nature Study Club and St. Monica Chapter No. 486 OES and was a former member of the Aldine Society and the Clio Study Club. For many years, she devoted much time to Lexington Center, Johnstown Hospital and many other local organizations.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her father, Dr. Jackson W. Riddle Sr. of Johnstown and two daughters, Katherine L. Ehle of Johnstown and Rebecca W. (Brett) Beers of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. Mrs. Ehle is also survived by a sister, Katherine Blanchard of New Bern, N.C.; two brothers, Jackson W. Riddle Jr. of Seattle, Washington; Paul A. Riddle of Roswell, Georgia; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

It was Mrs. Ehle's wish to make organ donations through the Center for Donation and Transplant of Albany, N.Y. Cremation took place at Vale Crematory, Schenectady, N.Y.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ehle Funeral Home. A Service of Resurrection will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Episcopal Church, Johnstown, N.Y.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Episcopal Church or the Johnstown Public Library.
