Mrs. Nancy E. Phillips, 79 years old, of Youngs Corners Road, died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born August 18, 1933, in Amsterdam, a daughter of T. Forrest and Margaret Warner Brown. Nancy was a lifelong resident of the town of Florida and a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School. She was a member of the Florida Reformed Church in Minaville and active in church and community affairs. Nancy was very involved with the 4-H program and interested in geneology.
Her husband Harold L. Phillips, whom she married May 22, 1953, predeceased her. Nancy is survived by three daughters: Karen (Stanley) Alikonis of the town of Florida, Margaret B. Clark of the town of Florida and Kristine (Thomas) Schopmeier of Tribes Hill; her sister Barbara Stewart of Fonda; seven grandchildren: Hope (Justin) Baltazor, Jessica Cebula, Michael (Jessica L.) Dean, Matthew (Michelle) Clark, Daniel Clark, Annisa Phillips and Ryan Schopmeier; six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends. She was also predeceased by her son Mark Phillips and her great grandson Morgan Baltazor.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013, at Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam. Burial will take place in the West Galway Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
