JOHNSTOWN - A man who burglarized a Gloversville home last fall was sentenced Monday in Fulton County Court to up to three years in state prison.

Joshua S. Hodgson, 31, of 52 S. Judson St., was sentenced by Judge Polly A. Hoye to 1 1/2 to three years in state prison as part of a plea arrangement. He was sentenced as a second felony offender.

He pleaded guilty March 7 before Hoye to one count of third-degree attempted burglary.

Hodgson was arrested along with a co-defendant - Austin L. Nellis, 18, of 1181 Route 30, Mayfield - Nov. 20 by Gloversville police after an investigation revealed they burglarized a home on Fifth Street. Hodgson was initially charged with second-degree burglary and petit larceny.

Police said the men entered the residence through an unlocked front door and removed a safe, two laptops, two Playstation 3 consoles and several games for the systems.

Nellis was sentenced March 27 by Hoye to one year in the county jail in connection with the burglary.
