GLOVERSVILLE - After nearly 14 years of selling clothing, the Beacon Wearhouse store at 53 S. Main St. is closing at the end of the month.
"People just aren't shopping locally anymore and don't really have the money," said owner Susan Casey. "If you can't make a profit, you can't sustain a business today."
Casey said the store will close April 27.
She said she will work from her real estate office across the street at the Casey Plaza Apartments after the store closes and offer the Beacon Wearhouse store space for rent to another business.
Casey said the store is having a going-out-of-business sale.
"I appreciate my many customers over the years and will make arrangements to get vouchers for the people or businesses that have orders already purchased," Casey said. "We are also working to notify everyone that still has gift cards to the store to come in."
