FONDA - A Montgomery County Court jury on Thursday convicted an Amsterdam man of sexual abuse of several children and he now faces a long state prison term.

District Attorney James E. "Jed" Conboy said today the jury convicted Pedro Ressy, 35, of 317 W. Main St., Amsterdam of: two felony counts of first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child and four misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He faces consecutive 10 to 25-year terms in state prison. Charges stem from a period between late 2008 and June 2011 involving more than one victim. The children were younger than 17 and younger than 11, police said.

Ressy is currently incarcerated at the Cape Vincent Correctional Facility, where he is being held on a six-year sentence for a second-degree robbery conviction.
