JOHNSTOWN -?HealthLink Littauer, the community health and wellness service of Nathan Littauer Hospital and Nursing Home, recently announced its 11th annual Healthy Heart Day is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the YMCA lobby, 213 Harrison St. Extension.
"Heart disease is still the number one killer in this country," Sue Cridland, Littauer's director of Community Education, said in a news release. "Since February is American Heart Month, we're offering people the opportunity to have their blood pressure checked, get a body fat analysis, learn their body mass index, relieve stress with a chair massage, and talk with health, nutrition and exercise professionals about making heart healthy lifestyle changes."
Attendees at the event will include representatives from: Littauer's Cardio-Pulmonary Services; HealthLink; Lifeline and Nutritional Services; Community Health Center; Cooperative Extension; Massage therapists - Russ Catalano, Sharon Nare and Bette Papa; MVP Healthcare; and Office For Aging.
The free event will be open to the public and no appointments are needed.
