Teresa DeMaria Bottisti, 59, of Vanderveer Street, Amsterdam, passed away Tuesday evening at St. Mary's Hospital surrounded by loving family.
Born in Amsterdam on July 11, 1953, the daughter of the late Dominick and Stella Glavaris DeMaria, she was a graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
She moved with her family to California as a child, returning to Amsterdam a couple of years later. Teresa assisted in the family business, Bottisti's Pizzeria and Bottisti's Fine Italian Foods for a time.
She was a homemaker, raising her five children, spending time cooking and caring for her home, and was noted for her decorating style.
She married Bruce Bottisti on October 7, 1973, at St. Stanislaus Church.
Her husband survives as well as her loving children, Justin Bottisti, Tiffany Marie Bottisti, Sabrina (Stacey Posluszny) Bottisti, Alissa (David Myers) Bottisti and Aaron Bottisti, all of Amsterdam; she was the proud grandmother to Vincenzo, Isabella Bottisti and Giavanna Bottisti, Tomas Quinones, Daniel Becker, Gabriel Bottisti, Isabella and Gaviano Myers; her dear brothers, John (Denise) DePhillips and Jerry DeMaria of Amsterdam, as well as Anthony DeMaria; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The Mass of Christian burial will be offered by Fr. O. Robert DeMartinis Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church, 50 Cornell St., Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue. Interment is in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stanislaus Church, the Montgomery Co. SPCA, or the American Red Cross, all in care of the funeral home office.
