David Alan Ward, 40, of Gloversville, passed away following a short illness at home on Sunday, January 29, 2013.
Mr. Ward was born on January 24, 1973, in Gloversville. He was a son of Kenneth A. and Wilma M (May) Ward Sr.
David graduated from Gloversville High School, class of 1991. Following his graduation, he moved to Longview, Texas, and recently returned to Gloversville.
While in Texas, David worked installing air conditioning and upon returning to Gloversville had worked as a bouncer at local taverns.
David enjoyed watching sports; he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and also rooted for the N.Y. Mets. He enjoyed bowling, playing pool, visiting casinos and was in a few of the local dart leagues. David was a people person and had several close friends that he enjoyed networking with on Facebook.
Mr. Ward was predeceased by his father, Kenneth A. Ward Sr.
He is survived by his mother, Wilma P. Ward of Gloversville; four brothers, Gerald Parker of Texas, Larry Ward of Fultonville, Kenneth Ward Jr. of Gloversville and Douglas Ward of Gloversville; four sisters, Bonnie Knight of Mt. Upton, N.Y., Doreen Hernigle of Fultonville, Lynne Ward of Gloversville and Dawn Ward of Gloversville; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends are invited to call on the family Thursday, January 31, 2013, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville.
