December 10, 2012
The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - City police said a man head-butted an officer who was trying to arrest him Sunday.

Lawrence J. Cross III, 25, of 370 S. Main St., was charged with second-degree assault, resisting arrest, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct.

Police said officers were called to the Cellar Bar, 1 West St., at 4:30 a.m. Sunday about a large fight outside the establishment. Officers noticed Cross walking north away from the scene, police said.

Police said officers approached Cross to interview him about the fight. Cross became unruly and began creating a scene, police said. Officers tried to place Cross into custody, police said, but Cross resisted and head-butted an officer, injuring the officer's right arm.

Cross was held for arraignment Sunday morning.
