Huskies set new marks at indoor track meet

ALBANY - The Gloversville boys and girls indoor track teams set three new school records at Saturday's Tri-County Indoor Track B League meet on Saturday at the University at Albany.

The boys placed fourth with 49 points and the girls were sixth with 39 points.

The boys sprint medley relay team of John Knox III, Alex Gifford, Michael Murrary and Michael Fancher set a new school mark with a second-place time of 3:55.55 and the distance medley relay team of Knox, Gifford, Jack Hayes and Matthew Rivera set a new mark with a second-place time of 11:17.6.

Gifford won the 600-meter run with a time of 1:29.9 and Zachary Funk was third in the triple jump, reaching 38-3.

For the girls, the sprint medley relay team of Chanel Thomas, Dayna Peck, Carolyn Peck and Amanda Cabrera-Chase were fourth with a school-record time of 4:49.9.

Krysta Lee was third in the shot put, reaching 27-8? Brianna Port was third in the long jump, reaching 13-6.

Amsterdam

SCHENECTADY - The Amsterdam boys team placed fifth and the Lady Rams ninth in Saturday's morning meet at Union College.

Sophomore Izaiah Brown took top honors in the high jump, clearing the bar at 5-10 and ran a leg on the Rams' victorious Distance Medley Relay (11:39.8) with Anthony Stewart, Matt Raponi and Nick Raponi.

Matt Raponi also placed sixth in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:57.5 and Connor Kilgallen placed third in the pole vault at 9-06 and Chris Rost was fourth in the high jump (5-02).

Kelly Paris placed second in 300-meter dash (44.7) for the Lady Rams.

Broadalbin-Perth

SCHENECTADY - In the afternoon meet at Union College, the Broadalbin-Perth boys squad placed sixth, while the Lady Patriots were fifth.

Anna Smith led the Lady Patriots with her victory in the shot put with a toss of 32-02. Renee Bellinger placed fifth in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 6:16.3 and sixth in the high jump at 4-0.

Chelsea LeBlanc placed third in the high jump at 4-06 and Madison MacFarland was sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 25-04.

Greg Bogdan was fourth in the 1,000-meter run (3:00.2) and third in the 1,600-meter run (4:55.5) for the Patriots, while Hunter Martin was sixth in the 1,600 in 5:31.3. Michael Visco placed sixth in the 45-meter dash in 6.0 seconds and Devon Paige placed sixth in the shot put with a toss of 36-01.75
