Mr. Terry Treadwell, age 41, of Gloversville, N.Y., died Monday, December 3, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospital, Amsterdam, N.Y.
Terry was a brave and enthusiastic soul who touched the lives of hundreds of people during his 41 years on this earth. He was a severely developmentally disabled individual who did not communicate with words but embraced and was received by people who loved him, laughed with him and cared for him. He lived at Lexington Center for 22 years, and his family will be eternally grateful for their intelligent, compassionate and devoted attention.
He is the son of the late Joe Treadwell of Mobil AL. He is survived by his mother, Barbara Treadwell of Savannah GA, sister Kate Treadwell of New York City, brother Jay Treadwell of Carefree AZ, nieces Morgan and Sarah Treadwell and Harley Gargano, nephews Rocco and Luke Gargano, and grandmother Ruth Perkins.
Terry's uncle, the Rev. Thomas Johnston Perkins, will preside at his service at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville, NY, on Thursday, Dec. 6, at noon. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make any donation possible in Terry's honor to the Lexington Foundation, 465 N.
