November 12, 2012
By LEVI PASCHER , The Leader Herald

GLOVERSVILLE - The city Police Department is investigating three armed robberies of pedestrians between 10:30 and 11 p.m. Sunday at three locations.

According to police, people walking on the street were robbed at: East Fulton Street and North Judson Street; Spring Street near Bleecker Street; and Elm Street near Middle Street.

The police said in each incident, the victims were threatened with what appeared to be a handgun and were told to turn over money.

Police said the suspects in each incident were described as four males wearing black, gray and maroon hooded sweatshirts with the hoods tightly drawn over their faces.

The amount of money taken during the robberies could not be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation, said Anthony Clay, captain of the Detectives Division.

He said the department is following multiple leads and police believe the robberies were committed by the same people.

He could not clarify if multiple people were robbed during any of the three incidents.

He said no injuries were reported in the robberies.

The investigation was in the initial stages early today, and more information will be released when possible, police said.

Anyone with information regarding the robberies or suspects can contact the Detective Division at 773-4505.
