Unfunded mandates are crippling school budgets and local town/cty budgets. What steps are Andy taking to correct this??? All you have to do to get elected and then keep the governship of NYS is to win NYC and Buffalo. Take a look at Andy's school aid formula as a shining example of going where the votes are.

Almost all of the so-called mandates were either begun or continued under the governorship of 'Mario the Pious' and further continued by 'SAFE son Andy'. So let's see, Andy taps Pataki and H.Carl McCall to come up with Tax relief proposals, then, while sitting at a table with a sign that says 'Committed to Cutting Taxes' at Manhattanville College Andy crows about his 2% Property Tax cap (gimmick,as it turned out). So grant, where's Cuomos mandate relief? Why are our Taxes getting higher every year?

Supervisor Fagan calls the resolution "largely symbolic." I call it "largely political."

Almost all of the so-called mandates were either begun or continued under the governorship of the "rock-hard conservative" George Pataki.

It is not just the state that puts forth these gimmicks, it is government at all levels. Spending is way out of control and it continues to grow. Until they pay down current debt, in my opinion every mandated spending is unfunded. There is no way to pay for these and our debt continues to grow. What will it take to end this spending spree? WHat will awaken the masses to this growing debt? I do not have a clue as the debt has gone way past my comfort level. State debt= $348,361,985.000 Time to quit spending yet? Federal debt = $17,523,218,669,918.00 but the last 6 digits are long gone by the time I finished typing them... spend Obama, spend!
