MrBob: I never stated that you said that Mr. Robertson was fired. You never said that. However there's no EEOC violation. And no prayer rooms, footbaths, or prayer rugs where I work either. Nature or nuture? At this point in time there's nothing to PROVE that it's one or the other, despite what you or anyone else may think.

TiredOfTax, don't you dare quote Shakespeare, not when I'm around. You misapplied it this time and the last time. In your utter absurdity, you actually took the Hamlet quote as being applied to someone who complains too much, which is NOT what that quote means.

Jeers to you.

Yes usedto, being homosexual AND a hetrophobe IS a choice. Go ahead and try to prove me wrong. There's no 'homogene' but you can make one up if you want to. Here's my definition of respect: Something that is EARNED, not freely given away, pervs included. Kev, yes, Phil and Family were and are 'employees' and I never said they were 'fired', you did and nobody's 1st Amendment or any other Constitutional Rights were violated. Contractually, maybe, Religious, yes thus an EEOC violation. Are there footbaths, prayer rugs and prayer rooms for muzzie cultists in places of employment? You bet, but it's ok to bully Christians because we don't cut your head off or blow up your place of business if you screw with us.

drugs, do you really mean this?

everybody knew who they were and always treated them with the same respect given any other human being.

Where did yo live where this existed? San Francisco, maybe?

I think the fact that you and others can use terms like pervs and "light in the loafers" is a huge contradiction to the above statement. I'd be interested in your definition of "respect" since your the terms you use are in direct opposition to my definition of respect. Doublespeek? 1984? good source for your babbling rant

Support for the Affordable Care Act has dropped five percentage points in a month to a record low, according to a CNN/ORC poll released Monday.

The poll finds that just 35 percent of the public supports the law, compared to 40 percent in late November.

MrBob: Mr. Robertson is not & was not an employee of the A&E Network or its affiliates. He was not fired but suspended ("in hiatus") from the filiming of the show but apparently is still being paid per contract. Without knowledge of what exactly the contract states, it's difficult to say if this is a breach of contract by either party. I do not question Mr. Robertson's right to speak freely about any subject he desires, and this "controversy" is ridiculous. Did A&E blunder here? Probably so. But the publicity, good or bad (depends upon your perspective, eh?), oh my!!

BlackFrancis1, "they" get referred to as "pervs" more than likely due to the in your face attitude. "They" have been around almost forever, locally (anywhere), everybody knew who they were and always treated them with the same respect given any other human being. It has been only in the last few years since the LKGBQX (or whatever), "rights" demanding, media attention garnering, and all the other crap, that has caused the great divide. "They" brought all this negative attention on themselves.

It's 2013, almost 2014, and people are still calling gay people "pervs"? Sometimes I dispair of our species. By the way, no animal species has been found in which homosexual has not been shown to exist so watch out for those perverted yaks and those ***** sea bass.

I'd be willing to bet that those of you defending Duck Dynasty's first amendment rights were the same people condemning the Dixie chicks when they excercized their 1st amendment rights.

And bobbi, do you really believe that homosexuality is a choice?

Drugs, and anyone else for that matter, ask yourself why the pervs 'care' so much about what goes on in the Hetro bedroom while flaunting their own perversions. Could it be they desire to destroy our Moral Compass?? They are not normal and insist they be accepted as such. They subscribe to the progressive meme that insists 'up is down', 'good is bad', 'right is left', freedom is slavery' and (the best one of all) 'ignorance is strength'. Now, let's see if the 2% or so of pervs in America can sustain A&E or if A&E goes the opposite of Chic-fil-a.

Adkkev, here's what you missed while you were chasing red herrings around in the Bible and elsewhere in a futile attempt at equivocation; EEOC Law of 1972. That's it, plain and simple. No Constitutional 'right's' were infringed upon here, just Employment Laws. A&E discriminated against an employee on religious grounds, they stupidly said it themselves in their press release, read the WHOLE thing. THAT is what's illegal. What is not illegal is A&E choosing to run with the perverts while Phil and his family and a whole lot of us kneel with God and avoid A&E.

I personally am not taking a position on the issue adkkev, I see you are very astute as to where it came from as I posted that in the post. I also see that you have lumped me in true liberal fashion as a supporter slavery, polygamy, concubines, and a few other things that are in that section of the Old Testament... ummm NOPE those things are supported by progressive thinkers maybe but not me!

adkev, so tell me where in any bible does it say that Adam and Adam make a great couple???? And where does it say that I have to be accepting, and that "gay" marriage is a good thing ??? What anybody does behind closed doors is not my business, but I'm getting a little (OK a LOT) tired of the "we're here, we're *****, and we're in your face" attitude so prevalent today.

ToT: your Bible quote is from the Old Testament .. and if you are using that to support the anti-gay argument, then I'm supposing that you support slavery, polygamy, concubines, and a few other things that are in that section of the Old Testament. And yes, MrBob, I did my homework.

Could someone at the Leader Herald explain to me why the chose the title they did for Mr Parkers letter to the editor in the Sunday Leader. "Merger best option for taxpayers, kids" If you read the article you will realize Mr Parker does not offer an opinion as how someone should vote on the Merger. His argument is with the way Albany actually spends money on education. Two questions come to mind just why is the Leader Herald pushing so hard to get this merger approved and just how Yellow is you journalism?
