A lot of this money could be spent on the nations crumbling infrastructure. There are hundreds of bridges, roads, etc that are in terrible shape. And yes, it would create jobs as well.

I believe that they should easily be able to spend that money on a worthwhile project. Or they can waste it like they have the billions of dollars they have spent without any returns.

We have a stockpile of weapoms to fight a dozen wars! The "military complex" in America employs more civilians then active duty personnel..Time for these people to work in another field...Maybe rebuilding USA infrastructure??The other alternative is layoffs and lost jobs..

I yhink that the political leaders need to start listing to the military leaders they are the people on the front lines and have a much beter idea what the troops need in the field. Yes there are some members of congress that have served in the military but most of them were many years ago and the way we fight wars have changed.

Scarecrow, usually I agree with you, but are tank parts the only thing that the Watervliet Arsenal can make???? Unless they have gotten rid of all the real machinists and welders, I'm thinking that they can make a whole bunch of stuff.

Well I can tell you the Democrats in the Senate will be against this. After all, parts of the Abrams tank are manufactured right here in NYS, a place called the Watervliet Arenal.

Funny how Democrats always call for cuts in defense spending until it hits their own wallets.
